Maundy Thursday

Maundy Thursday Service Options:

The name Maundy Thursday (Holy Thursday) comes from a variation of the Old French mande, taken from the Latin mandatum novum
(a new commandment) John 13:34.  It is a time of celebrating the last supper and the last evening of love that our Lord had with his disciples.
Three documents connected with this are, the service, the scripture, and the songs.  Click on each link to download them.  When one reads the scripture, it is very meaningful to read through it three times.  You may even want different persons in your family to read it, pausing between each reading for reflection.
May you use this Holy Thursday to reconnect in love to those you love the most.  God bless, Pastor Ralph.

Or…… Here is an invitation from the congregation I served before coming to BUMC

Join us online for a showing of our 2017 Dramatic Musical “Song of the Shadows”. Holy Thursday, April 9th, at 7 PM on The story of the final week of Jesus’ life with Choir, Orchestra and our own Men’s drama team as Jesus and the Disciples.

Good Friday

An Interactive Family Service:

Good Friday is a Christian holiday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus and his death at Calvary. Its observance during Holy Week precedes Easter Sunday. May we never take for granted this huge gift of love on our behalf.
As we approach Good Friday, we remember the pain and suffering of the CROSS, and all that Jesus was willing to endure, so we could be set free. He paid the price, such a great sacrifice, to offer us the gift of eternal life.
You and your family members may wish to prepare by downloading and printing this inter-active worship service ahead of time to be used as you worship together on Good Friday. Follow the link to find this contemporary service.
Here is a more traditional worship service with liturgy, prayers, and hymns to download. Please also view this musical accompaniment from Steve to go along with this service.   Enjoy!
Both of these are self-guided services.  May you be blessed by the remembrance of this day in anticipation of the celebration of our risen Savior. Many blessings, Pastor Sarajane.
