Haggai 2:7

I will make all the nations quake. The wealth of all the nations will come. I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord of heavenly forces.

Parents, has your student been confirmed?

6th grade is full of many exciting and challenging times, and the opportunity to participate in confirmation is one of them! We hope that your family will consider participating in Bulverde UMC’s confirmation classes this year, so here are all the major details you need to know!
Confirmation is open to all 6th-12th grade students and will be taught by Bulverde UMC’s Senior Pastor, Ralph Mann. An accompanying class will also be available for all parents of students in confirmation and will be taught by Bulverde UMC’s Youth Director, Caleigh Smith.
Both the student and parent classes will be guided by The Absolute Basics of the Christian Faith written by Phil Tallon and published by Seedbed. Bulverde UMC will provide each student and parent with a copy of this book, and all participants will be expected to read in preparation for our weekly sessions. You can check out an overview of the book at www.seedbed.com/absolutebasics.
Students will meet in room 200 of the education building, and parents will meet across the hall in room 203. (Youth Sunday school class for students not in confirmation will continue to meet in the Aftershock Youth Lounge.)
Confirmation classes will take place during the 9:30-10:30 AM Sunday school hour from January 26 through May 31. The attached schedule provides details regarding holidays and curriculum. For students who choose to be confirmed, we will do so on May 31, which is Pentecost Sunday. Students who have not been baptized will also have the opportunity to be baptized at this time. Attendance is a priority, and students must complete all lessons in order to be given the option to be confirmed. If circumstances arise where a student must miss a class, then please communicate with Pastor Ralph or Caleigh as early as possible so that we can schedule a make-up class.
Confirmation classes will help students discern what it means to be a Christian and what it would mean to be a member of Bulverde UMC so that they can make an informed decision. Parents, your participation is incredibly valuable! Parents are the people with the most influence in the faith development of their children, so it is imperative for parents and the Church to partner together!
Simply reply to this email no later than Friday, January 24 and complete the 2019-2020 Aftershock Medical Release and Permission Form available on our Aftershock website (if you have not done so already) to confirm your participation in 2020 confirmation.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions! I am praying for your family!
