Introduction

Upward is an evangelistic sports ministry specifically designed for kindergarten through sixth grade boys and girls that promotes salvation, character, and self-esteem in every child. At Bulverde United Methodist Church, we offer basketball and cheerleading as part of our Upward ministry. Upward provides opportunities for all believers, no matter what denomination, to become meaningfully involved: there are opportunities to pray for this program, coach a team, referee a game, share a devotion and help in our concession stand!

2010/2011 Upward Program

Information. Early registration for the 2010/2011 Upward Basketball and Cheerleading program is going on now! The early registration cost for our program is $65 for basketball and $65 for cheerleading. After October 17, the registration cost increases to $75 for basketball and $75 for cheerleading. The last day for registration is November 13. The registration cost includes a jersey for basketball or a top and skirt for cheerleading. You can optionally purchase shorts for basketball for an additional $15 or a mock turtleneck for cheerleading for an additional $15 through the Upward program.

Mail in or Drop Off Registration. The Upward brochure/registration form can be obtained from the church office or downloaded by clicking here. Please mail the completed form and payment to the Bulverde United Methodist Church or drop off the form and payment at the church office.

Evaluations and Orientations. K-5 through 6th Grade Boys/Girls must attend one basketball evaluation or cheerleading orientation.

Location: Bulverde United Methodist Church gym

Dates: Saturday, October 23, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Saturday, November 13, between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

League Schedule:

All practices begin the week of Monday, January 3, 2011.

First game is Friday, January 14, 2011.

Awards Celebration is Sunday, March 6, 2011.
