About Us

Our Purpose.   It seems so simple to believe people know the purpose of the Church, but it is not always so clear. Our purpose then is to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all who will hear.  We do this by carrying out the five purposes of the church: Celebration (worship), Discipleship (teaching), Fellowship (building community), Service (serving), and Outreach (mission). 

Our Mission.  The mission of Bulverde United Methodist Church is:  To Build, To Grow, To Send.  To Build a community that knows Jesus Christ as its Savior.  To Grow a community of disciples that lives the Word of God.  To Send disciples into the world to heal the nations.

Our Strategy.   Our overarching strategy is hospitality evangelism, and we incorporate this into every aspect of the church.  Hospitality Evangelism is a state of mind, whereby a congregation remains open to our guests.  We strive to create an environment where you quickly feel you're part of the family.  If you feel part of the family, you can be free to give the special gifts and blessings which make you a unique child of God.

Our Call.   Every believer in Jesus Christ has a call to ministry.  We are partners in ministry of Bulverde United Methodist Church, not members.  Members have privileges and special parking places.  As partners in ministry, we all see ourselves as called to serve God's purpose for the Church. As a result, we are always growing and challenging one another to respond to Christ's claim on our lives.  Renew our spirits and minds for ministry.  Review our gifts of the spirit which God can use to glorify the kingdom and redo a commission to our very own specific call to a ministry.
